Social uses of the film. Theoretical and methodological notes, and review of a research practice

Abstract

The article presents some key theoretical and methodological coordinates of a doctoral research, based on the qualitative approach linked to the use of artistic and cultural expressions, nominating film as a primary source of analysis. It also describes the different stages of 'fieldwork' summarizing the routes, tasks and activities for the formation of the corpus and the delimitation of its mode of approach. The sharing of these theoretical and methodological notes and the review of the research practice aims to contribute to the reflection on the importance and relevance of incorporating multiple alternative corpus in generating scientific knowledge in the Social Sciences field
