Abstract
This paper critically addresses the fundamental arguments of a sector of psychoanalytic theories and practices that have been grouped under the name of "hermeneutic tradition", based on two aspects: at first, based on the distance that these arguments mantain with Freud's original proposal; second, by analyzing the epistemic assumptions and values that have guided (explicitly and implicitly) to such prospects. Subsequently to the critical approach, it conjecture arguments tending to transcend or refocus some methodological problems of the psychoanalytic research and practice, like the conceptualization and formalization of causative action, the hypothesis validation (metapsychological and clinical), and the place of theoretical formalizations in field of clinic
